Earth Prayers Newsletter - September 2026

3. Sept.
8 Min. Lesezeit

We warmly welcome you to the Earth Prayers Newsletter September 2026. There are wonderful things to report again and four projects that we will support together in the month of September with money and with our heartfelt best wishes — in Austria, Kenya, and Gambia.

Even though much is currently moving on many levels on Earth — we at Earth Prayers remain focused and nourish visions, people, and projects week after week, step by step. In this way, this network of goodwill may continue to grow and flourish. We are grateful from the bottom of our hearts that you, too, are part of this inner and outer work!

Before we now come to this month’s projects, we would like to draw the artists among you to the fact that we are looking for artworks for the Earth Prayers Calendar 2027 — namely in relation to our theme areas. We will then select some artworks and thus enrich our annual calendar. The following pictures explain this endeavor, in which we would love to involve you, in more detail. Please send us your artwork by October 1, 2026 if you are interested ❤️

The following words reached us in August from a wonderful project that we have supported time and again over the past years. We let Libertad speak for herself:

“On behalf of the entire community of the Arawi Moqxa Music School in Pisac, Cusco, we turn to you with deep gratitude to express our most sincere thanks for the generous financial donation you have granted us.

Your valuable support has marked a milestone in our history and has enabled us to create a dignified and well-equipped space for the artistic development of our community. Thanks to these funds we were able to acquire the following:

.) Musical instruments: 15 violins, 3 keyboards, 1 guitar and 1 Andean harp.

.) Teaching materials and aids: 7 books of the Suzuki violin method and 6 music stands.

.) Technical equipment: 1 hi-fi speaker.

.) Infrastructure: The furnishing of our new premises, which are fully equipped with new chairs, shelves and stands designed for the proper storage of the instruments.

In addition, we would like to highlight that thanks to this support we have been able to rely on 6 highly qualified teachers during this period, thereby ensuring musical education of the highest level. Thanks to this joint effort we are today moving forward with firm steps and celebrating the positive impact we have achieved, because the families of 25 children from Pisac have benefited from all the instruments we have been able to provide.

Thank you, Earth Prayers, for believing in the transformative power of music and for accompanying us step by step on this beautiful path.

With kind regards,

Libertad Condori Catacora”

Here you can watch a video greeting from Libertad for us. As always with German subtitles.

We have also received this thank-you video from Sang Jatta from Gambia, whom we will support again this month!

Now we come to this month’s projects:

🌞 7.–13.9.2026 ~ The Empowered Woman ~ Seeds of Love ~ Kenya ❤️

Once again we want to support this wonderful initiative in Kenya. Peninah Lesorogol comes from Samburu, Kenya, and now lives in Austria. We have already supported her work in her homeland several times.

With her far-sightedness she brings wonderful impulses into her homeland: most often she supports the women of her tribe.

In this school-building project, of course both girls and boys will benefit. The school will also create work opportunities for some of the women of her tribe. Wonderful things are happening here with the association “Seeds of Love.”

Here are current words about the school-building project in Samburu, Kenya:

“A school is more than a building. It is the beginning of opportunities, knowledge and future!

In Samburu County, Kenya, Seeds of Love has built the first classroom of the new school with the first donations collected and with the help of the local community.

The school is intended to strengthen children and adults alike. Your donation will be used for the construction of a kitchen, a dining hall, sanitary facilities and further classrooms. Learn more at seeds-of-love.at and help education, hope and change grow.”

Next year Peninah will appear in a documentary film about her life between the worlds. It is so beautiful that she will carry her radiance and her loving, world-connecting nature even further into the world! We wholeheartedly support Peninah Lesorogol and the association “Seeds of Love.”

🌞 14.–20.9.2026 ~ Free Development for Children ~ Schule im Pfeifferhof (SiP) - Wooden Floors ~ Austria ❤️

As we know, children are the seeds of the new Earth. It is so important that alternative schools like the Schule im Pfeifferhof exist. We now let this heartfelt project speak to us in the words of Alexandra and Max Soukup and are very happy to be able to contribute a little to the realization of this school’s endeavor:

“The Schule im Pfeifferhof (SiP) is a private alternative school in Graz for children and young people from 6 to 15 years. It has public recognition, covers the entire compulsory schooling period and has been recognized since 2022 by the Austrian Buddhist Religious Community as a Buddhist school.

At the center is a simple thought: children may learn without pressure, stress and grading — accompanied with appreciation, in mindful togetherness, with space for silence, movement and their own unfolding. The school is carried by the parents’ association ‘Mit Kindern leben’; currently 87 children learn with us in mixed-age groups.

Over the years we have grown steadily — and our school building has long since become too small to give every child the space that free unfolding needs.

At the same time, our wish is great to enable even more children to complete their compulsory schooling far from school stress and to be part of our community. If it were up to us, every child deserves this.

That is why we are building on: A modern, ecological solid-wood construction extends the existing building by around 260 m² — new classrooms and movement rooms, an auditorium with library and open learning atelier, gender-separated toilets and more. The extension makes the school fully barrier-free and creates space for around 20 additional children over the coming years.

We have the great fortune that our landlord is covering the majority of the investment costs — we will pay this part back over the coming around 20 years through the school fees. What a classic rental property does not cover, however, we have to raise ourselves: the entire interior furnishings that first make a school a school. For this we are still short around 160,000 EUR.

Highest-priority goal — wooden floors: 12,000 EUR

The floors are the first large and time-critical piece: they have to be pre-financed in the coming months. They are the surfaces on which the children walk, sit, play and learn every day — in the literal sense the ground beneath their unfolding. We are happy about every form of support — for example through the dedication of the floor of one or more group rooms, according to possibility.

Our school is divided into four group areas.

Each group area comprises about one quarter of the total wooden floor, so around 3,000 EUR.

Overall interior furnishings project — individual steps:

• Wooden floors – 12,000 EUR

• Electrical installation & lighting – 33,000 EUR

• Toilets & sanitary facilities – 16,000 EUR

• Tiles – 11,000 EUR

• Fire protection (school requirements) – 10,000 EUR

• Accessibility measures – 12,000 EUR

• Acoustic ceilings (for a quiet learning atmosphere) – 25,000 EUR

• Reserve & taxes – around 41,000 EUR

• Total: around 160,000 EUR

For the furnishings themselves we deliberately rely on upcycling and ‘less is more’.

Some of the quotes are already in hand, some work has already been commissioned.

All of this is carried by us parents — on a voluntary basis. In total the families contribute around 5,000 working hours per year (over 70 hours per family). In order to manage the extension, we have to raise the school fees noticeably for everyone; through a social fund firmly anchored in the annual budget, all families together contribute a little more so that lower-income families can be relieved upon application. Every contribution from outside reduces this burden — and helps ensure that the SiP remains a fine, free place not only for our children but for many further generations of children.

From the heart, thank you for nourishing visions like ours.

Alexandra and Max Soukup”

🌞 21.–27.9.2026 ~ Holistic Health ~ Vuka Daraja na Jirani ~ Lochuch Ngoo, Children, Agriculture, Elderly People ~ Kenya ❤️

As so often before, this month we will again support the initiative “Vuka Daraja na Jirani” in Baragoi, Samburu, Kenya. Lochuch and his wife Ari do wonderful work there. They feel the great call to support the children and the elders of the village.

Lochuch himself did not go to school, and it is a matter of his heart that all children can go to school and learn to read and write. We have already supported him many times in this great wish: with meals for the schoolchildren (porridge), with school uniforms and school equipment. At this moment he is also in the process of building a small building for children without parents — a small orphanage. Part of the donations also go to his own family — for example for paying the school fees of his daughters, etc.

We are very grateful to Lochuch and Ari for their work and are happy to support them again this month as the Earth Prayers family.

🌞 28.9.–4.10.2026 ~ Heartfelt Wishes ~ Sang Jatta ~ Well ~ Gambia ❤️

Jatta is a farmer in Gambia and lives with his wife and his five children. A few months ago we were able to support him in building a fence around his plot so that the wandering goats, sheep and cows cannot beat him to the harvest.

He is now asking for support so that his fields can thrive a little more easily and more productively. Sang would like to have a well dug so that he and his family no longer have to carry the water by hand, bucket by bucket. We wholeheartedly want to support this dream of his family!

Finally, as usual, we come to the donations raised last month, which we will send 100 percent to the respective projects in these days! Heartfelt thanks for our collective work!

Over 170 people currently have a standing order set up for all our weekly projects. If you would like to do the same, please write the following reference when making your monthly donation to the association Samen der Solidarität: “Donation Earth Prayers - For all projects of the month.”

Samen der Solidarität - Verein

IBAN AT13 3412 9000 0021 6960

In this way your monthly donation will be distributed evenly among every weekly project, and with your donation you nourish an initiative on Earth every single week of the year.

Besides the possibility of supporting all projects, at Earth Prayers you can also support a project individually: namely when a particular initiative especially touches you. This option, however, exists only during the exact week in which a specific project is being promoted. During this time you can transfer any amount for this particular project with the following reference:

“Donation Earth Prayers - Project of the week - ‘Name of the project’”

We wish you an effective, mindful and joyful September!
