Earth Prayers Letter December 2024

These are moving times here on Earth. Much is happening. It is deeply touching that we, as the Earth Prayers community, can contribute to peaceful and benevolent coexistence. This is a wish rooted in all our hearts, striving to be lived.

I want to express heartfelt thanks on behalf of all the beautiful people and projects we have already supported with blessings from our hearts and financial contributions. Thank you to all of you who contribute with your hearts and money. Without the over 150 people who donate to our projects every month, this would not be possible—nor without the approximately 10 people in the Earth Prayers team who enable our efforts, exchanges, and work. May your efforts, wishes, and donations return to you manifold—in whatever form that may be! Of course, immense gratitude also goes to those who believe in their visions, bring them into the world, and are supported by us. They remind us of the power of vision, purpose, and connection. May we all bring our visions to life!

I harbor the hope that the wars in Russia/Ukraine and Palestine/Israel will soon come to an end. We humans know the truth: the war machinery is a massive business. A fraction of this machinery could instantly end all hunger on Earth. I hope Germany and the rest of Europe will soon reflect on this and contribute to peace rather than deepening conflict.

Here in Kenya, where I currently reside, the leasing of Nairobi Airport for 30 years has been temporarily prevented (subjectively, selling off a country seems unwise). Additionally, Bill Gates' immunity for his activities in Kenya has been temporarily lifted in court. While Gates can still massively import, gift, and sell his genetically modified seeds in Kenya, one can hope that small-scale farming, the people, and natural seeds will prevail in the long run. Now, on to our collective work this month!

Our support for the Magarini Children Centre, Malindi, Kenya, has been very fruitful. We have received wonderful videos from the children. Two sewing machines were purchased, which are used for sewing and repairing clothes and making sanitary pads. A lack of pads has often caused girls to miss school out of shame. Additionally, many German books were bought for motivated German students! The children, who are already singing enthusiastically with their German teacher Furaha, now have a book, fulfilling a major wish!

Here are two short, heartwarming videos straight from Kenya!

I want to share a small story with you. A few weeks ago, Marisol from Cuzco, Peru, approached us seeking support for her Museum of Sacred Plants in Cuzco. In the coming months, we will support Marisol and her husband in continuing their efforts to educate people in Cuzco about the medicine and power of plants and help them achieve better health.

Marisol organizes festive meals at her home for the major celebrations worldwide (whether from Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, or the indigenous culture of Peru), to which all are warmly invited. During one such festive meal, an Austrian man attended. He didn’t speak Spanish but participated in the celebrations, singing and dancing. The next day, he handed Marisol the printed Earth Prayers support application, which she filled out and sent to us. It’s heartwarming to see how networks are formed, and circles come full circle. We don’t know who this man was, but he was clearly touched by Marisol’s work, wanted to support her, and passed the Earth Prayers seed to her. 🌞 Feel free to reach out if you’re reading these lines!

As always, this month, we will support an initiative, a person, or a vision each week. Our journey takes us to Ethiopia, Venezuela, Kenya (twice), and Peru.

🌞 December 2nd - 8th  Nature & Culture   Moped for Women - Aloe Vera Project ~ Ethiopia ❤️

Women of the Hamar pastoralist community seek support to transport their locally produced soaps to the nearest town. To implement this project more efficiently and improve their quality of life, they wish to have a motorcycle. This will enable the distribution and sale of their handmade soaps in the surrounding areas. Additionally, the motorcycle can be rented out, benefitting the women and their Aloe Vera soap production.

We are once again fundraising for this initiative in Ethiopia to complement the 500 euros we raised in September! The total goal is 1600 euros. We now need 1100 euros to make this motorcycle purchase possible! Together, we can achieve this—maybe even now?

Andrea Ennsmann brought this Ethiopian initiative to our attention. She knows the initiator, Getinet, personally, having met him during her travels in Ethiopia. She also shares stories about these travels in her book and presentations. Feel free to check out her webpage— https://www.andreaensmann.com/buecher/  Andrea actively distributes Earth Prayers flyers at her events, spreading awareness of our work among people!

Here are some additional impressions from the lives of the Hamar community in Ethiopia!

🌞 9.12. - 15.12.  Empowering Women   Vanessa Hernández - Support for Entrepreneurship ~ Venezuela ❤️

Vanessa has been living on a farm in La Azulita, Mérida State, Venezuela, for the past few years. She is a mother of four, and since her relationship ended, she is now even more financially self-reliant. A boost for her entrepreneurial efforts would greatly help her.

Now residing with her children on the outskirts of Caracas, Vanessa wants to share her knowledge and passion for organic food and essential plant-based oils to earn a living. She has done this in the past and now seeks to make a fresh start. She hopes to purchase raw materials, a blender, an oven, and containers for her products. This will help her establish her business, focusing on dried fruits, high-quality plant oils, and more. Her total request is 1010 Euros.

We wish Vanessa all the best in her entrepreneurial journey and, of course, as a person and a mother, and we wholeheartedly support her! 😌❤️☺️

Let’s let a few images of Vanessa, her children, and her work speak for themselves.

🌞 16.12. - 22.12.  Unfolding for Children -  Lmartin People's Association ~ Kenya ❤️

For the second time, we focus on this wonderful project in Suguta Marmar, Samburu, Kenya. For the first support phase of this project, we aim for a total of 1200 Euros, meaning that around 600 Euros are still very welcome!

The initial wave of support has already accomplished a lot, enabling the purchase of school uniforms, pens, schoolbooks, and notebooks. The second wave will now focus on sports! Balls, sportswear, and other equipment will be purchased. Justinah, a teacher at this primary school, is well aware of the children's situation and their needs.

We are delighted to support her and her organization, the Lmartin People’s Association, and through them, the children of this primary school in Suguta Marmar!

🌞 30.12. - 5.1.  Heartfelt Wishes   Joseph Ltangires Lesorogol - Support for Studies ~ Kenya ❤️

Ltangires is a highly motivated young man from the Lesorogol family, already familiar to many of you through Peninah and Saituku. Peninah resides in Graz, and we have supported her efforts to empower women in her tribe on numerous occasions—be it through jewelry-making initiatives or the establishment of a forest garden project.

Two years ago, Ltangires began studying at the University of Nairobi. However, the cost of housing became a significant challenge for him. Fortunately, he was able to stay with friends in Nairobi near the university for two years. Unfortunately, these friends recently lost their jobs and could no longer provide housing, leaving Ltangires without a place to stay.

Ltangires approached us for assistance in covering the cost of housing near the university. We aim to support him by funding a shared four-bed dormitory room for the next three years. Additionally, we want to help clear his outstanding tuition fees for the year 2024. This initiative requires around 2,400 euros. This support would allow Ltangires to focus more effectively on his studies, even as he continues to bear the responsibility of covering his tuition fees himself.

We want to ensure that Ltangires doesn’t have to worry about his housing expenses anymore and can fully dedicate himself to his education.

With all our hearts, we support this diligent and warm-hearted young man!

Now, let’s move on to the figures for the month of November. Once again, we have received a lot of valuable financial energy and are able to send 100% of it forward! The support for the two projects in Kenya already arrived in Kenya yesterday! Some of you may be surprised to see the number of participants has dropped from over 170 to 152. This is because, in the past, we accidentally counted some of our donors multiple times. We’ve now corrected that, so the current number is 152 donors. As expected, the vast majority of them are women. ❤️ A shout-out to the feminine power in the universe, which we hope will become more and more visible and tangible, and, together with the masculine energy, help manifest a new Earth.

Of course, we are always happy when you tell your friends about us and when our Earth Prayers family grows. We are now at a point where we can support a project, vision, or individual with around 500 euros every week. This is made possible by our 150 regular donors who contribute, for example, 10 euros each month (which means you support each project with around 2 euros). When the donation is made with the purpose "All projects of the month," it is evenly distributed among the projects of that month. Within the specific week that we promote a particular project, you can also donate directly to that project, which is always very much appreciated. Here, we share with you the link with more detailed information on the donation options. https://www.earth-prayers.com/spenden In the past month, two kind individuals made a generous donation to the wonderful project of Lochuch Ngoo in Samburu, Kenya. Heartfelt thanks for that! For the last project, "Community Empowerment and Permaculture in Baragoi, Kenya," a large donation of 1,730 euros was received, helping to achieve the project's goal! Many, many thanks! In addition, through the EBI (Independent Education Initiatives) Christmas Charity event, 270 euros were donated for all the projects of November. A huge thank you for that!

We wish you a blessed Christmas season, much time with your loved ones, and an open heart!
